Umrah pricing is confusing because two packages with the same headline number can be very different trips. The variable that moves the price most is not the airline - it is how far your hotel is from the Haram. This is where the money actually goes.

Why hotel distance dominates
A room 200 metres from Masjid al-Haram and one 2 km away can differ by four times the nightly rate. That is not snobbery about the hotel - it is that walking 2 km back after Isha, five times a day, in Saudi heat, is a different pilgrimage. If your budget is tight, cut nights before you cut proximity. Nine well-placed nights beat fourteen badly-placed ones.
Three real price points
- Economy - ten days, 3-star, walking distance, coach transfers. Our Umrah Economy Package sits here and is what most first-time pilgrims book.
- Ramadan - fifteen days timed for the last ten nights, with suhoor and iftar arranged daily. Prices rise across the board in Ramadan; see the Ramadan Special.
- Premium - fourteen days, Haram-view rooms, private transfers, all meals. The Premium package is roughly double economy, and almost all of that difference is the two hotels.
Where people overspend
- Booking Ramadan without meaning to. If the dates are flexible, moving outside Ramadan can halve the trip.
- Paying for five stars far out. A 5-star 3 km away is worse than a clean 3-star you can walk from.
- Buying ziyarat separately. It is cheap as part of a package and expensive as a one-off taxi.
- Excess baggage on the way home. Zamzam allowance is separate; check it before buying gifts.
